Social protection schemes are designed to enhance resilience against shocks, create an inclusive economy and contribute to human welfare and fulfilment of human rights. However, social protection benefits often go unused, undermining their ability to reduce poverty and inequalities. Focussing on access to entitlements during the acute phase of the Covid-19 pandemic, this report offers an analysis of the typology of challenges faced by citizens in accessing their entitlements and the resolution pathways that were used by volunteers to assist such citizens. Based on these learnings, facilitating access to rights and entitlements is now an integral part of our field interventions.
